Leyna Bernstein, Principal, is a trusted and knowledgeable guide and coach for boards and executive directors dealing with growth, change and leadership transition. Leyna was the top human resources executive at two of the Bay Area's leading socially responsible businesses, and managed recruiting research for The Gap, Inc. From 1997 through 2008, she held senior staff positions at Bay Area nonprofit support centers, in San Francisco, Marin and the East Bay. In these roles Leyna served as a consultant, trainer, and recruiter.
Leyna serves on the core faculty of two nonprofit executive leadership programs, and has provided training to hundreds of nonprofit leaders and board members. Leyna is the author of "Creating Your Employee Handbook: A Do-It-Yourself Kit for Nonprofits", published by Jossey Bass. In February of 2009 Leyna opened her own independent consulting practice.
