Lois L. Lindauer President, Lois L. Lindauer Searches
Lois L. Lindauer is one of New England’s best known entrepreneurs.
Before founding Lois L. Lindauer Searches (LLLS), she launched
the highly successful Diet Workshop, the nation’s first
weight loss program to introduce behavior modification into its
curriculum and incorporate a focus on fitness. Ms. Lindauer was
the first woman in the United States to use the franchise system
of distribution to build her business, and when she sold the
system in 1991, Diet Workshop was generating more than $25 million.
Ready for her next challenge, Ms. Lindauer created LLLS in 1997
as a way to support Boston’s dynamic nonprofit community.
What started as a one-person operation with a single client has
expanded into a highly regarded executive search service that
focuses solely on the recruitment of top-flight fundraisers.
LLLS now has a staff of 15 and serves nonprofit clients from
Maine to Colorado. Its roster of distinguished clients include:
the University of Rochester, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Washington
University in St. Louis, National Jewish Asthma and Research
Center, and Carnegie Mellon University.
A resident of Boston, Ms. Lindauer has served on numerous boards
throughout the city. She has published five books on diet and
exercise topics and is now in high demand as a speaker on career
building and recruitment issues.
Ms. Lindauer is a graduate of Brandeis University, Waltham,
MA where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
