Rebecca L. Worters Founder
and owner of Capability Company
Rebecca L. Worters is the founder and owner of Capability Company,
an executive search firm serving nonprofit organizations. At Capability
Company she has worked with dozens of clients and hundreds of candidates
to help organizations hire capable leaders for the nonprofit sector.
Her business experience, combined with more than a decade of experience
in fundraising and organizational leadership, totals 18 years in
the nonprofit sector.
Prior to founding Capability Company, she was the Vice President
of Development for the North Carolina Symphony and was responsible
for leading a $15 million capital and endowment campaign.
Rebecca has been a leader in development and organizational planning
for the United Way of Howard County (Kokomo, Indiana) and the Indianapolis
Art Center. She was the Director of Major Gifts for Children’s
Mercy Hospital (Kansas City, Missouri) and has served in fundraising
roles with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Playspace Children’s
Museum (Raleigh, North Carolina). As Vice President for Development
at the North Carolina Symphony, she increased annual contributed
income by 35% in her first season with the orchestra and raised
an additional $5 million toward building, equipment and permanent
endowment funds.
