Elissa Dumiak is a nationally recognized executive search leader and a driving force behind Scion Executive Search’s success in placing transformational nonprofit executives. As a seasoned expert in nonprofit talent strategy, Elissa leads a dynamic team of executive search principals and associates who specialize in identifying mission-aligned leaders for organizations and foundations of all sizes.

With a track record of directing hundreds of executive searches across the sector, Elissa is known for her ability to build deep, trusted partnerships with clients and candidates alike. Her approach is rooted in authenticity, strategic alignment, and a commitment to long-term organizational success. Under her leadership, Scion’s team consistently delivers exceptional executive talent who advance mission, equity, and impact.

Elissa’s leadership style is both energizing and accessible, grounded in relationship-building, nonprofit governance expertise, and strategic network cultivation. As a member of Scion’s Executive Leadership Team, she is a vocal champion for full-spectrum diversity and actively mentors her team to prioritize equity in every search engagement.

A certified SHRM-SCP and holder of numerous AIRS and ASA credentials, Elissa brings both rigor and innovation to the executive search process. She is a graduate of the Leadership Austin Emerge Program (Cohort 14) and an active volunteer leader, having served in board and advisory roles with the Jeep Rogers YMCA and public school districts in South Carolina and Washington State.

Before joining Scion, Elissa built a successful career in real estate and marketing, drawing on her background in public relations and marketing from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
